Celebrate Veteran's Day with Soldiers' Angels

At Cullan & Cullan, we are always looking for ways to give back. To celebrate Veteran’s Day, we have chosen to volunteer with an organization called Soldiers’ Angels – and we think you should, too!

What Is Soldier’s Angels?

Soldiers’ Angels is one of the highest-rated nonprofits in the country and aims to provide comfort and assistance to the men and women of the United States Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard, and their family members. The organization also supports U.S. veterans and their loved ones.

How Do I Get Involved?

All volunteers at the charity are referred to as “angels.” When you become a “soldiers’ angel,” you can join a variety of teams, including:

• The Angel Bakers Team – where you can send a one-time care package of homemade goodies to deployed soldiers in need
• The Ladies of Liberty Team – which allows you to pamper female service members with a one-time feminine care package
• The Letter Writing Team – where you can brighten a soldier’s day with a one-time letter-writing opportunity

We’ve highlighted just a few of the amazing, one-time programs sponsored by Soldiers’ Angels above.

If you’d like to be involved year-round, you can also “adopt a solider,” (or up to 3!) by sending them weekly letters and monthly care packages throughout their deployment.

Can I Make a Donation?

Yes! Even if you don’t have time to spare, you can make a monetary donation to the organization.

Along with countless other charities, Soldiers’ Angels is also seeking the following goods to add to care packages:

• Non-aerosol deodorant
• Sunscreen
• Socks
• Dental care items (toothbrushes and toothpaste)
• Non-perishable snacks (crackers, granola bars, and beef jerky)

If you crochet or knit for a hobby, soldiers always appreciate handmade scarves, hats, bags, and bandanas, as well.

Any creative project, like calligraphy or drawing, could also make a meaningful gift to a service member.
